DCR-1

The DCR-1 is position-sensing and signal processing amplifier for use in yarn and tape winders and other take-up applications. It senses the position of the "dancer" arm in the filament path, applies the Selectronics’ patented Regulated Setpoint Convergence (RSCtm) algorithm to process the position signal, and then derives from it an "intelligent" reference signal to control the speed or torque of the motor that is driving the take-up spindle of the winder.

The DCR-1 senses the position of the compensator arm by the use of the same non-contact Magnetic Angle Sensor as used in the popular DCD series of Dancer Control Drives. It provides an output of 0-10 VDC to serve as a reference signal to control the external motor drive that is powering the spindle motor. Any type of motor drive may be used including inexpensive AC inverter, brushless DC drive or servo amplifier / driver. The drive need not have any features such as acceleration or deceleration profiles, PID or special signal processing. If these features are present then they are defeated by their parameter programming so the drive performs simple and linear, real-time speed response to the input speed reference voltage.

The DCR-1 is powered by 12-24 VDC derived from the motor drive that it is controlling. It is connected to the motor drive by a wiring harness. The DCR-1 is also connected to the typical Preset Speed Potentiometer and Yarn Brake Switch by another wiring harness.

The DCR-1 is warranted free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of FIVE YEARS after purchase.
