The MAS is an angular position sensor that has the advantage of being non-contact yet has the ability to detect angular position with extreme accuracy. It does this by sensing the polar orientation of a magnetic field produced by a bar magnet attached to the moving element. There is no mechanical contact; therefore there is no wear or degradation of the signal over time. The MAS will last indefinitely!

Its compact size of only 3.3" x 2.2" x 1.5" lend it to a myriad of sensing applications. An example is the automatic centering of compensator or dancer-arm shaft position for precise take-up speed control.

The MAS Magnetic Angle Sensor is available in a variety of models with different electrical outputs including: 0 – 10 VDC, 4 –20 MA, duty-cycle modulation, etc.
