Power Failure Alert
PFA
The PFA-2 provides its owner with an audible alert whenever there has been a utility power failure to a specific power circuit, whether due to a general power outage such as during a storm or even a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker. The PFA-2 is self-contained in a small plastic enclosure with a power cord, an audible buzzer, a SILENCE button, and an internal 9-volt battery.
When the PFA-2 is plugged into a 117 VAC utility power outlet it sets itself and remains silent. If power is removed from that outlet for more that twenty (20) seconds the PFA-2 will begin to pulse a loud, high-pitched beep. It will continue to sound this alert for up to thirty days or until the SILENCE pushbutton is pressed.
It is recommended that the internal standard 9-volt battery be replaced annually, however during normal power-on conditions there is no drain on the battery so it will perform up to shelf life. The PFA-2 draws no current from the outlet to which it is attached, it simply monitors the voltage.
The PFA-2 is guaranteed free from defects in materials and workmanship for two years.
