Temperature Limit Alert
TLA-3

The TLA-3 provides constant monitoring of ambient temperature in the vicinity of the unit and provides audible alert if the temperature has exceeded the high or low set-point limits. Typical applications include the alert of medical personnel should the temperature exceed stated limits where pharmaceuticals are stored in ambulances and other shipping and transport vehicles or storage locations.

High and low temperature alert limits are easily set to the user-specified “safe” temperature range by buttons on the internal control panel which is covered by a protective faceplate to prevent unauthorized adjustment. The control panel also displays the current temperature and the highest and lowest temperature sensed since the last push of the “CLEAR MEMORY” button. (see photo below)

The TLA-3 is available with an internal sensor located inside its case for monitoring the temperature right where it is located or with a remote sensor connected by a ten-foot cable so the sensor can be mounted inside a cabinet, refrigerator, heater, etc. The unit is powered from an internal standard 9-volt battery.

INSTALLATION

Installation is simple, requiring only that the unit be mounted near the material to be monitored. Choose a visible, secure area to mount the TLA-3. A vertical wall or panel within reasonable proximity to the sensitive area is recommended.

Remove the four corner screws on the face of the TLA-3 to remove the faceplate. Use the two holes in the back panel of the enclosure as a template to mark the place for the mounting screws on the chosen location surface. Drill or auger two 3/32” holes and fasten the enclosure to the vertical surface with the supplied self-tapping screws or any other screws of choice.

After the back enclosure is secure the temperature set-points should be programmed.
